Washing your car never felt so cool. The price is great, the equipment works very well and it’s actually pretty fun.
It was my first time here today so I needed to pay for come extra minutes with my card. I ended up having 5 minutes leftover and I thought «Ah well, I’ll let the next person have a little extra time.» Little did I know I was reimbursed for the extra time. I saw it on my bank account statement. That was a very cool thing for them to do. I will definitely be coming back here.
Oh and wear clothes you don’t care about getting dirty/wet.

I had been looking for a self serve car wash and found this one, on Unilocal of course.
Very easy to pull in and out of. Has change machines for $ 1, $ 5 & $ 10 bills. Takes credit cards. Also, has machines in the back by the vacuums for drying shams, air fresheners, armor all. There are sinks to rinse out your shams and even a drying crank to put your sham through to get out excess water.
I was there mid-day and there was no wait to pull into a washing stall.
Overall, very pleased with my experience.

The last time I got my car washed was 5 years ago. I know, I know. Your jaw has dropped. Let me explain: my car is a 16 year old piece of junk with a front bumper that is duct taped on. Thus, I simply don’t care if it is dirty and I assumed that the tape wouldn’t hold up in the large brushes, dryers, and water streams of a drive-thru car wash. Despite all this, I couldn’t take the dust filth anymore and decided that perhaps a hand wash in which I can take the focus off of the tape would probably work well. Having driven past Zeavy Car Wash on countless occasions; I decided to check it out.
Zeavy Car Wash is a 6-stalled do-it-yourself hand car wash located on the corner of Burbank/Cahuenga Blvds. Although entrances are located off of both streets; it is recommended to turn in from Burbank heading South due to the location of the pay box and the drying/vacuum stalls. No need to come prepped with a pocket full of quarters as Zeavy accepts credit cards ($ 2.50 for 5 min cash $ 5.00 for 10 minutes credit). The facilities are clean, modern, and quite well-maintained.
Upon entering the stall, a large sign lists the steps and solutions involved in the wash (it is about 7 steps!) from rinse, soap, tire scrub, to wax rinse, and soak. Definitely take a moment to devise a plan and review the steps before starting the clock and turning dials. There are two brushes (one for the foam and one for tire scrub) which were in decent shape with no stains. The pressure of each solution is strong and not skimped, at all.
The great thing about Zeavy is that the timer is large and gives a beeping countdown during the final minute. From experience, 10 minutes is definitely needed. There is really no way to complete the wash in less so expect to pay $ 5. The disappointing part? The pay box is «green» and doesn’t give out a printed receipt so you have to check card statements to double check on charges.
Expect to be misted with water but honestly, you will stay rather clean and dry in terms of a hand wash.
I can not vouch for the vacuums as I did not use them. However, My biggest tip? Bring paper towels for the windows and towels for the car or otherwise you will have spotting. Although, a machine is available dispensing wipes for 75 cents (Armor All machines are also on the lot). Also, skip the wax rinse. It leaves a film and is overly waxy making the car look dirty.
My car is still a piece of junk with tape on it but at least 5 years of dust has been washed off. Zeavy is a well-maintained, sufficient self-wash worth the $ 5 you will pay. Then you can drive away as join the rest of the sparkling-clean cars in LA.

Just cleaned my car at this location and found it as well-maintained and functional as the one on Victory. I really like the fact that in addition to the normal nozzle and brush you find at these DIY places, Zeavy also has a separate brush (and chemical) for the rims and tires. I paid cash and my $ 5 got me ten minutes of time which was plenty to do what I needed. Since my tires/rims were especially dirty, I added a few bucks and made them sparkle! Money well spent! I have not used the vacuum area since my car is generally pretty clean inside, but it seems as well-kept and orderly as the washing stalls. Would definitely use this place again and recommend it to friends.

the sign says $ 2.5 but its $ 5, that’s good price too but when I swiped my card for extra 1 min for $ 1 they charged me $ 6 more so the total 11 minutes cost me $ 11

Awesome Car Wash! I’ve been washing the beast there for a year. Never had any issues with the equipments or the atmosphere.
Swipe the card for $ 5 and get 10 minutes of foam madness.
Highly recommended

I’m updating my review because I noticed some surface scratches on the roof of my car after washing my car here a few weeks ago. Based on the pattern of the scratches, it was evident that these had come from the brush. The following visit here, I washed the car without using the brush but it wasn’t as good of a wash. =/

Too small. I was squeezed between my truck and the walls, because there were no space the hose keep hitting me. Then when I was drying my vehicle, the soap and water from the next people washing their cars did get my truck dirty again.

Had a great experience here. Cheap and good. It costs $ 5 for 10 minutes, and then you pull over to the vacuum thing which is 4 quarters for 4 minutes. So $ 6 total for a bombass car wash. Once you get the hang of everything, you get a really nice cleaning.

This place is great, I clean my car here every week. The equipment works great every time! I chose to do a bucket wash and use most of my own stuff and they are fine with that (I only go when it’s quiet though).

I went at night and it was well lit and spots were open. 10mins for $ 5 credit card swipe is more than enough. The vacuum had strong suction which was a nice surprise! $ 1 for 4 mins which was perfect for my small pickup truck interior. This place is perfect for what I need. Also the trash cans were empty next to the vac. A++

This is one of the best DYI car washes that I’ve ever been to. Separate wands for foaming suds; high pressure spray for rinse and wash, and another for wheels. All the equipment (except the coin/credit card machines) are in good shape. You can wash your car for $ 2.50 for 5 minutes, but you have to pay cash. If you use your credit card, then it will automatically charge you $ 5 for 10 minutes, which is usually more than enough for my car.
The wash options are:
Pre-soak with soap — low pressure
Wash — high pressure
Rinse — high pressure
Clear coat rinse — low pressure, basically something like rain-x
Foam wand
Wheel wash wand

O.K. now that I’ve ragged on the worst spray wash in the world (Frogs in Huntington Beach), allow me to introduce you to the best.
Of course I’m talking about Zeavy Car Wash of North Hollywood. (I never knew it was called that until a few seconds ago.)
The reason I like it so much, is after years and years of coming in and water blasting, I’ve never had any problem with any of the equipment, change machines, or friendly staff. You drive in, you stick your coins or credit cards in the slots and before you can say «Niagara Falls» you’re spraying more wildly than Dustin Diamond in his porn video.
Water Pressure: Good!
Nozzle Quality: Excellent!
Drainage: Superior!
The only issue is, when it’s busy, cars start backing up and because of the layout you have to «pick a side»…either aiming the front of your car to the 3 stalls on the right, or the 3 stalls on the left. The problem is, you might already have been waiting for a few minutes for any of the 6 stalls to open up – then someone drives in behind you and if you don’t choose sides fast, they will. Then of course, by one of Isaac Newton’s most famous laws of nature, you always choose the side that doesn’t move for another 20 minutes while Knucklehead Johnson who just drove in, immediately gets into the stall you deserve.
And I’m not the person who pulls across to the other area to dry and shine and polish when I’m done spritzing. That area seems a bit close to the waterworks and I can see why other reviewers don’t like getting drizzled on over there by people blasting away at their cars with H2O.

I’ve been here twice as my new baby got a bit scratched up at the machine wash so I wanted a DIY location and I think my apartment will be a little tricky.
I never have to wait long but it’s always busy. I still haven’t quite figured out how to get my free minutes but I’m sure the third time is a charm!
The change machine always rejects my $ 1 notes and it really pisses me off. There is nothing wrong with one note over another but it decides which one it will take. Annoying!
I love the foaming brush but the drying place for the cars is too close to the washing spot. I spend all the time drying my car for someone’s washing spray to continually hit my dry shiny car!

Okay so my car color is black which of course shows dirt and dust, I personally like mother nature to take care of my car… but since it had been a good 6 months since I had washed my slut and had been commented on the filth of my color often. FINE. I’ll wash it. I have yet to find a good car wash with previous bad experiences so I decided to go to the do your own.
This wash is locate just blocks from my residence and I always see it busy. so one night I saw an open spot and took advantage of it. I swiped my card 3 times and nothing was happening. swiped one more time. then all of the sudden I had 10minutes and wonder how much did I just spend considering the sign stated $ 2.50 per wash. either way. I was washed away my car. with just enough time to do one last rinse. since I didn’t’ come prepared with towels or quarters for that matter. I decided to do the good o’ drive fast on the freeway and let it air dry. (it works) I did notice later that I was charged a few times on my debit card but was quickly credited within minutes. so I would highly recommend to take $$$$. I shall return again.

A big effin Fuck You to Zeavy Car Wash! Boooo!
I rolled in and found a spot. Bammo! Nice. Weird that the car in it backed out to a vacuum but… okay. It’s MY spot now, bwahaha!
Aight, dolla dolla, I gottem! What??? Shit won’t take my dollas? What the hell. Coinage jammed in the coin EXIT slot? This jam is WACK! Ite, I’ll swipe my card in the ghetto ass thing. Beep beep is heard barely audibly and I look for an on button. Directions are not of use. Dial the dial through all the functions, no clicks, pshhhhshssshsss, or whirs.
One «turn the other cheek» later and I slide my card again. Buy the ticket, take the ride. And then, like a Las Vegas slot, an LCD screen above my head starts flashing like a blimp banner and clicking up to 20 dollas! Then it starts clicking down to 10 resting on 8. W???
Foam starts pumping and the everlasting gobstopper machine starts having an epileptic seizure. Man, I’ve got all the time in the world to bubble my blue bear. I’ll save you the round and round details with the various implements which all worked fine.
The whole time I could only swallow the bitterness that I’ve already paid more to do this shit myself than to relax while someone else does a better job for me. I ease into the vacuum station and decide to spring for a jumbo shammie. Seventy Five Cents. Not bad. Except when you drop in the coinage and get NOTHING.
Wait, more. In order to get that 75 cents to send to rip off land, I changed a 5 dolla bill and got back 8 quarters and 3 gold George Washington dollars. Not even Susan B’s which I hate almost as much. FUCK!!!
I spend another buck on two fifty cent shamwhothefuckwows and rub down the sprayed on wax. I was going to get my monies worth and ride my own ass like as if I was a dude working for me. So I got a nice shine, and exercise to boot at gym fucking prices.
VRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM and SQUUUUEEEEELLLLLL to never look back…

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the line wasn’t too bad. People mentioned there’s an attendant on duty who directs traffic? I didn’t see anyone there, but things weren’t too chaotic when I went.
The prices have gone up a bit since some of these reviews were posted, but Zeavy’s is still pretty affordable. I *THINK* it was $ 5.00 for 10 minutes… everything happened so quickly I don’t quite remember. In any event, it’s fairly cheap. Next to the credit card swiper, there’s a knob where you choose which function you want to use (eg prewash, rinse, wax, soap, etc). This was my first time and I was a bit overwhelmed, but I can imagine that once you get the hang of it, you’ll be sure to maximize your time.
That pressure washer is damn strong — I’m tiny and while I was holding it, it pushed me back a little bit! It was a totally cartoon moment!
After you’re done washing, you can drive up to the drying bay. I think two cars fit per bay. There you can use the vacuum (it takes quarters) and even spray a fragrance in your car (don’t do it!). If you forget your drying accessories, there are vending machines where you can purchase some stuff. But I recommend bringing your own towels/drying stuff, the 75 cents towel they have there is like a puppy pad.

… Is It Illegal To Wash Your Car In California 2022? Read More »

The fact that California has faced drought a few times, this might quickly make you wonder if it’s against the law to wash your car by yourself in California .. So, is it illegal to wash your car in California ?. Following the recurring drought in the whole of California, there’s been ban or restriction on residents washing their car at home.. But generally, residents were allowed to wash their cars at home but they had to use shutoff nozzles to manage water.. So, if you were caught watering your sidewalk or washing your car without the shut-off nozzle to manage water, you won’t be arrested, but you’ll be made to pay a fine of $500 to the state.. So, you most likely won’t get a fine if you’re caught washing your car in California.. When you wash your car in your driveway, you wash off the soap, chemicals, gasoline, exhaust residue, etc.. To save wildlife in the ocean, and reduce your negative impact on the environment, it’s best to take your car to an ecofriendly carwash that collects the water expelled in car washing, treats and reuses it.. It’s best to wash your car at the carwash where the water would be treated and reused.. Here’s what I mean- your grass will extract the pollutant from the water you wash your car with while allowing the rest of the water (that’s safe) flow into the waterways.. So, if you’ll wash your car on the grass, ensure you do not use dish soap but soap that’s specifically designed for car washing.. So, it’s safe to wash your car on your lawn, but with car washing soap.
